AY Makun Files Petition Against Facebook User

by Tolulope Akinruli

AY Makun, a popular comedian, has taken legal action against defamation by filing a petition against a Facebook user named Agozi Samuel. The comedian claims that a video shared by Samuel on his Facebook page caused him considerable harm.

Summary of the Petition

AY Makun says that the video “AY comedian where is your wife” contains false and unsubstantiated comments intended to harm his reputation. The comedian claims that the allegations in the video are not only false, but also have the potential to offend, insult, and cause unneeded tension for him and his family.

According to him, Samuel prepared and shared the video with the purpose of increasing fame and traffic to his page. The bogus assertions include accusations of having an extramarital affair with Yul Edochie’s wife, May Edochie, and being the cause of the couple’s marital crisis.

AY’s response

The comedian denies the claims. On Monday, January 22, 2024, AY, through his lawyers, filed a petition with the Delta State Police Command. The petition requests that the state police leadership take prompt action in investigating and apprehending Samuel. The evidence given demonstrates that Samuel defamed, cyberstalked, and cyberbullied AY.

Excerpts from the Petition

AY Makun

“In the four-minute, thirty-two-second video titled ‘AY comedian where is your wife’…”The Suspect, in a mischievous attempt to generate traffic and views for his page and gain cheap popularity, knowingly and intentionally made various statements that are not only false and baseless but also capable of causing annoyance, insult, enmity, hatred, public outrage, and unnecessary anxiety to our client and his family, as well as exposing our client to hatred and public ridicule.”
