Are you a young aspiring entrepreneur in Lesotho with a brilliant business idea or an existing startup seeking to scale up? The Basotho Enterprises Development Corporation (BEDCO), in partnership with the Government of Lesotho, is inviting applications for the 2025 edition of the Bacha Entrepreneurship Project.
What is BEDCO?
Established under the BEDCO Act No.9 of 1980, BEDCO is a key government agency dedicated to supporting Basotho-owned businesses and nurturing local entrepreneurial talent. Through training, market access, advocacy, and access to funding, BEDCO plays a pivotal role in boosting Lesotho’s Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
Who Can Apply?
The Bacha Project is open to:

Basotho youth aged 21 to 35

Those who have completed COSC or LGCSE (or higher qualifications)

Unemployed graduates passionate about launching their own businesses
-
Early-stage startups led by eligible youth looking for expansion funding
Applicants must demonstrate innovation, a viable business model, and long-term sustainability in their proposals.
