The Nigerian government has initiated the National Health Fellows Program to enhance primary healthcare services across the country. This 12-month fellowship aims to recruit young Nigerian professionals to serve in all 774 local government areas, focusing on upgrading existing primary healthcare centres and constructing new ones.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Age: 25 to 35 years.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in health-related fields, IT, or social sciences.
  • Experience: Demonstrated interest or experience in public health, health-related NGOs, or community projects showcasing leadership and initiative.
  • Availability: Full-time participation for the program’s duration.
  • Residency: Must be an indigene of the state applied for.
  • Technology: Ownership of a smartphone with data capabilities for communication platforms like WhatsApp and Zoom.
  • Recommendation: Endorsement from a university dean, NYSC place of primary assignment, or a reputable organization attesting to character and leadership qualities.
  • Skills: Strong analytical abilities and entrepreneurial drive.

Benefits:

Fellows will receive a stipend to support their participation and living expenses throughout the program.
