Peter Obi, former Labour Party presidential candidate, recently urged the arrest of individuals who claim they received “miracle” credit alerts during church testimonies.
This trend, where people testify in Nigerian churches about unexpectedly receiving funds after prayer, has become widespread.
During his appearance on the *Honest Bunch Podcast*, Obi argued that such claims amount to theft rather than divine intervention.
Peter Obi emphasized that blessings come through hard work, productivity, and dedication, not through idle prayers alone.
The former Anambra state governor argued that anyone claiming to receive a credit alert purely from praying should face arrest, as it likely involves someone else’s money.
“God can bless handiwork, productivity and industry. But he cannot bless someone who is sleeping. Anybody who says he got alert from praying should be arrested. You have stolen somebody’s money,” he said.
