In a move to support African innovation, the African Diaspora Network (ADN), in partnership with Myriad USA, has launched the African Diaspora Innovation Fund (AfDIF), offering up to $25,000 in grants to African and African-descendant entrepreneurs.
The initiative was unveiled during the 10th anniversary of the African Diaspora Investment Symposium at George Washington University, USA.
Each year, AfDIF will award grants to as many as 12 high-impact ventures addressing key challenges in sectors such as health, education, agriculture, clean energy, and technology.
AfDIF is designed to bridge funding gaps faced by African startups, especially those tackling systemic issues like unemployment and limited infrastructure.
The donor-driven model allows contributors of $500 or more to vote on final recipients, promoting transparency and community involvement.
“This is more than funding; it’s a movement to back Africa’s boldest changemakers,” said Romi Bhatia of Jedar Capital. “It empowers both entrepreneurs and supporters to shape Africa’s future together.”
ADN says the fund builds on its decade-long mission of connecting African-led solutions with global allies.
Applications are open to scalable, socially impactful ventures across the continent.
