The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has firmly refuted claims by oil marketers suggesting it lacks the capacity to meet Nigeria’s domestic fuel demand.

In response to these assertions, the refinery emphasised its substantial production capabilities and readiness to supply both local and international markets.

According to statements from the refinery, it possesses sufficient fuel to satisfy domestic needs and can export to other nations. This counters the marketers’ allegations and underscores the refinery’s role in bolstering Nigeria’s energy sector.

The Dangote Refinery, with a processing capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, stands as Africa’s largest oil refinery. Its operations are pivotal in reducing Nigeria’s reliance on imported petroleum products, aiming to achieve energy self-sufficiency for the nation.

Despite the refinery’s assurances, some oil marketers have expressed concerns about potential monopolistic tendencies and the implications for fuel pricing and availability. They advocate for a diversified supply chain to ensure market stability and prevent potential shortages.

In summary, while the Dangote Petroleum Refinery asserts its capability to meet Nigeria’s fuel demands, ongoing dialogues between the refinery and oil marketers are essential to address concerns and foster a collaborative approach to the nation’s energy needs.
