According to Entrepreneurng report, 50 trainees from the Dangote Articulated Truck Driving Academy have completed their studies after undergoing a tough and particularly planned curriculum in which they also emerged with flying colors.
This driving school is one of first Nigeria’s only accredited truck driving schools as a whole. Also, it is the only articulated truck driving school in the Kogi State town of Obajana.
Dr. Boboye Olayemi Oyeyemi, the former Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), inaugurated the school last year and called it a crucial milestone in Nigeria’s fight against the issue of vehicle accidents involving articulated trucks. It was indeed a great achievement and success.
However, the Divisional Director of Transport (DDT), Mr. Ajay Singh, indicated during the graduation ceremony that the new Batch C graduates had merely completed and graduated from classroom teaching and would still have to spend an additional six months getting practical experience through attachments.

Again, Mr. Singh gave guarantees that the school would benefit all users of the road in addition to reducing the number of accidents involving articulated vehicles.
The Director stated that the ultimate goal was to have zero accidents for all Dangote Group entities and has been powerfully enacted.
The FRSC and the Fantique Driver Training Center of South Africa collaborated on the intensive instruction, according to Mr. Daniel Marcus Akuso, Manager of the Dangote Articulated Truck Driving School at Dangote Cement Transport (DCT) Obajana.
Nevertheless, the three months of training, according to the school’s manager, have changed the trainee drivers’ orientation and have helped them in many ways.
This is the only institution in Nigeria that offers training, testing, certification, licensing, and employment to students who are also paid stipends. In addition to Dangote Cement, all Dangote Group subsidiaries in Africa use our products, according to Mr. Akuso.
Addressing, Engr Mukhtar Umar, Deputy Road Commandant (OC Instructor) of the FRSC attached to Dangote Driving School, stated that his organization plays a key role in the training and certification of experienced drivers and recently hired trainees to work effectively and efficiently.
We instruct them on defensive driving, reading traffic signs, understanding driver responsibilities, and driving culture before certifying them, said Engineer Umar.

In conclusion, Professor Idris Bugaje, the Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), stated that the NBTE was collaborating with Dangote Cement Plc to carry out the school’s curriculum. Indeed it is a great movement that has, in turn, has a positive impact on Nigeria’s society.
