Akin Osuntokun, the director general of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to adhere to the Electoral Act’s mandated procedures or the election will be nullified entirely. This was earlier announced during a press conference.

He claimed that the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retired), promised free and fair elections to Nigerians by enacting a new electoral law and that INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, made similar promises to Nigerians and the international community on numerous occasions.
In addition, he added that none of the promises had been kept despite the electoral body has repeatedly stated its readiness to conduct free and fair elections.
All the guarantees made regarding the implementation of a fair, secure system based on Bimodal Voter Accreditation System technology, he claimed, had been broken.

Videos and photos documenting the widespread violence and assaults against Nigerians can be found on the Internet and social media, and some assaults are still taking place in some regions of the nation as we speak.
However, there were simply too many instances of INEC and security forces working together to suppress popular rule to go into detail.
The INEC guidelines on the conduct of elections were seriously deficient, and it is clear that INEC has been very reticent to make corrections.

The labor party assures that they are acting by the law to protect the sacred mandate, we sincerely hope that Nigeria remains peaceful and law-abiding.
In conclusion, we hereby call on INEC to either completely cancel the election and plan for another election with strict adherence to the stipulated laws and guidelines, or to completely suspend the announcement of the results in the future and follow its soon guidelines to protect the image of the country.
