In honour of this year’s International Day of the Girl Child, Zenith General Insurance has donated money to the Lagoon School Library project as part of its dedication to empowering the people in the areas where it operates.
The head of the primary section of Lagoon School, Ugonwa Ohuche, praised Zenith Insurance for their thoughtful move, calling it admirable and significant. “Zenith Insurance’s donation to Lagoon School is such a lovely gesture,” Ohuche stated. It is great; the students will benefit from the donation to the school library initiative.
Since this is a girls’ school, the topic for this year’s celebration is “Girls’ Vision for the Future.” By sponsoring the Library project, which will benefit all of the girls at Lagoon School, I believe we are building the groundwork for future generations and investing in the future of the girl child,” Ohuche said.
“I want to use this opportunity to call on other corporate entities to borrow a leaf from Zenith General Insurance by keying into any ongoing projects in various Girls Schools that can help in empowering women and girls, especially in our country Nigeria,” she said, urging other corporate entities to follow Zenith Insurance’s example.
Edith Agu, Senior Manager, Marketing and Branch Head, Head Office and South-South Regions, of Zenith General Insurance, explained the donation’s justification by stating that the company is gender sensitive and that, as a corporate organisation, it is particular and passionate about a girl child’s future.
