The Women Affairs ministry has proposed a N75.26 billion budget for research and development in 2025.
This allocation is part of the ministry’s total planned budget of N78.52 billion, which is divided into N2.06 billion for human expenditures, N810.9 million for overheads, and N75.65 billion for capital projects.
The budget is now seeking ratification by the National Assembly. The planned research and development budget falls under the acquisition of intangible assets category, which also includes N265.03 million for monitoring and evaluation and N35 million for anniversaries and celebrations. The ministry also intends to allocate N100 million for general travel and transportation.
Other operational expenses include N40 million for office supplies, computer consumables, and cleaning and fumigation services.
Additionally, N25 million is set aside for service expenses. For social and administrative activities, the ministry has allocated N40.46 million for refreshments and meals, N30 million for athletic activities, and N15 million for annual budget expenses and administration, among other things.
