Wiz Khalifa, an American rapper and singer-songwriter, has expressed his thoughts on partnerships, calling for a 10-year dating period before marriage. According to the father of two, dating for a decade gives couples plenty of time to get to know one other and bond with their families before making the commitment.
Wiz remarked on a recent episode of the Club Shay Shay podcast, “People should date for 10 years before getting married because that’s long enough to know the person, their family, and who you’re going to deal with when you move in together.” When anchor Shannon Sharpe asked if couples should live together before getting married, the 37-year-old gave a calm response.
“It depends on the conditions. Some folks move in straight immediately but require time to figure things out.” Wiz Khalifa’s discography includes seven studio albums, one compilation album, one soundtrack album, three extended plays (EPs), two collaborative albums, 84 singles (44 of which are featured artists), 17 promotional singles, 21 mixtapes, and 82 music videos.
Khalifa began his career as a teenager, signing with Pittsburgh-based small label Rostrum Records. His debut mixtape, Prince of the City: Welcome to Pistolvania, and first studio album, Show and Prove (2006), marked the beginning of his rise. In 2007, Warner Bros. Records collaborated with Rostrum to sign Khalifa, resulting in the release of tracks such as “Youngin’ on His Grind” and “Say Yeah”.
The latter became his first Billboard-charting single, reaching number 20 on the US Hot Rap Songs chart. Wiz Khalifa’s profound thoughts on relationships, as well as his famous musical career, continue to attract listeners around the world.
