Wema Bank Plc has opened its fourth business school in Port Harcourt to help small and medium-sized businesses in Nigeria.
Wema Bank’s SME Business School was launched in Lagos in 2021 to help to build capacity for the country’s SMEs. The second edition was held virtually, while the third was held in Abuja. The initiative, which is now making its way to the country’s South-South geopolitical zone, has helped to equip SMEs in various parts of the country with the business management knowledge and skills needed to effectively run their businesses and respond to the ever-changing challenges of today’s business world.
According to Dotun Ifebogun, Divisional Head, of Retail Business at Wema Bank, the Wema SME Business School was created to close the critical knowledge gap in the Nigerian SME space, and each edition of the program takes place in a different part of the country to ensure that SMEs from all over the country participate and benefit.
He revealed that the bank has partnered with top-tier consultants from renowned organizations both within and outside of Nigeria, such as Deloitte, Facebook (Meta), and Nexford University, to serve as program facilitators and ensure that participants have an immersive and invaluable learning experience.
The 4th edition of the Wema SME Business School, which holds in Port Harcourt would impart contemporary business management skills and knowledge to growing businesses operating within the South-South region of the country. We intend to make them champions and successful enterprises, thus supporting the economic growth of the country.
