United Bank for Africa, UBA’s yearly Garden Light-Up celebration has marked the beginning of Yuletide.
The ceremony was conducted by the UBA Foundation, the company’s corporate social responsibility division, according to a statement released by UBA on Tuesday.
During this unique time of year, the Garden Light-Up symbolises UBA and its Foundation’s dedication to promoting joy and a feeling of community.
The lender claims that with its festive décor, sparkling lights, pyrotechnics, and upbeat music, the event sets the mood for the giving season and acts as a beacon of joy and optimism.
Oliver Alawuba, UBA’s Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, spoke at the occasion and underlined the bank’s commitment to making memories and its gratitude for the year-round efforts of its employees and clients.
Alawuba clarified that the bank would keep creating a lasting legacy as it commemorates its 75th anniversary.
“This ceremony is a reflection of our belief in the importance of family, unity, and giving back to the communities we serve. Together, we have achieved remarkable milestones, and we look forward to an even brighter future; I, therefore, encourage each of you: when you go home, touch your neighbour’s life. By spreading kindness and light,” he stated.
Customers and employees of UBA attended the lighting ceremony in large numbers, and the choir from the UBA Customer Fulfilment Centre delighted them with Christmas carols.
Fireworks and a guided tour of the UBA Foundation gardens on the Lagos Marina marked the end of the event.
