The 2023 Travel Photographer of the Year competition highlights dreamlike landscapes, intimate connections with nature, and captivating global scenes. Slovenian photographer AndreJa Ravnak secured the top position with her mesmerizing European landscapes. With over 20,000 entries from 150 countries, the competition revealed the diverse beauty and challenges of human interaction with nature.
As an architect, Ravnak expressed gratitude for the recognition, underscoring the significance of documenting our world for future generations. She acknowledged the excellence of fellow participants and considered the recognition an honor.
Notable winners include Athanasios Maloukos, capturing Siberian shamans in the “People and Cultures” category, and 14-year-old Caden Shepard Choi, who clinched the Young Travel Photographer of the Year award for her poignant black-and-white series on the Navajo people in Arizona.
