Shell Plc has named Ronald Adams as the new Managing Director of its Nigerian deep-water subsidiary, Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo). The appointment, announced by Gladys Afam-Anadu, Shell’s Media Relations Manager, will take effect on October 1, 2024.

Adams succeeds Elohor Aiboni, who will transition to an international role as Asset Director at Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP). Before this, Adams served as the CEO of Atlantic LNG in Trinidad and Tobago.

Osagie Okunbor, Shell’s Country Chair in Nigeria, congratulated Adams and underscored the significance of improving SNEPCo’s deep-water production performance and social investments in Nigeria. Okunbor also praised Aiboni for her leadership since taking office in August 2021, acknowledging her contributions to SNEPCo’s success.

Reflecting on her time at SNEPCo, Aiboni expressed gratitude for the support from colleagues and partners, noting her role in making the company a leader in deep-water operations in Nigeria.

Ronald Adams’ Profile

Adams brings over 32 years of experience in the energy sector, with expertise in both Shell-operated and non-operated ventures. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of the West Indies and an MBA in Strategic Planning from Heriot-Watt University, Scotland.

About SNEPCo

SNEPCo launched Nigeria’s deep-water development in 2005, with production beginning at Bonga via a 225,000-barrel-per-day Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading (FPSO) vessel, located 120 kilometers offshore in the Gulf of Guinea.
