Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) PLC has successfully secured the contract to take over the ground handling services for Ethiopian Airlines at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, effective January 1st, 2024. SAHCO will provide various services, including ramp handling, cargo handling, warehousing, and other aviation-related services.
While SAHCO has been handling cargo and warehousing services for Ethiopian Airlines in Lagos since 2016 and offering full handling services in Kano, the recent procurement of state-of-the-art equipment, coupled with the latest technology, well-trained and customer-friendly staff, has positioned SAHCO as the preferred handler for Ethiopian Airlines at the cargo ramp in Lagos.
The Head of Corporate Communications of SAHCO, Mrs. Venessa Uansohia, shared this development in an official statement. Ethiopian Airlines, the flag carrier of Ethiopia, wholly owned by the Ethiopian government, operates with its hub in Addis Ababa.
Basil Agboarumi, the Managing Director/CEO of SAHCO, expressed satisfaction in being chosen as the preferred ground handling company for Ethiopian Airlines’ full operations at the Cargo Ramp in Lagos. He attributed SAHCO’s selection to its outstanding pedigree and brilliant track record over the years, emphasizing its professionalism in line with global best practices. Agboarumi further highlighted that the trust and confidence built through SAHCO’s high-level services influenced Ethiopian Airlines’ decision to move its ground handling contract to SAHCO.
