The Nigeria Employer’s Consultative Association has advised the Federal Government to review and reshape economic policies to enhance growth and development.
According to NECA, the organised private sector of Nigeria believes there is a need to reshape economic policies to address the numerous challenges facing the country.
This was contained in a letter signed by the Director-General, NECA, Adewale Oyerinde, ahead of the OPSN roundtable dialogue.
He said the group believes that the expected governance dispensation, come 2023 is an opportunity to address the challenges.
Oyerinde said, “The OPSN believes that the expected governance dispensation, come 2023 is a new and veritable opportunity to address and redress the challenges through reshaped economic policies and implementation so as to swiftly rekindle and improve productivity in the economy”
“Thenceforth, economic activities, industrial and non-industrial operations have grossly been depressed, which accounts for the lingering poor performances of macro and socio-economic indicators in the country’s Gross Domestic Product, exchange rate, interest and inflation rates, industrial and manufacturing production, per capita GDP, unemployment and youth unemployment, poverty and many more have all degenerated”
