Rukayat Gawat Oyefeso, a well-known Islamic singer from Nigeria, has apparently passed away. On Tuesday morning, a cleric named Alfa Aribidesi At-Tawdeeh Islamic Da’awah revealed the news of her passing on his Facebook page.
“Our condolences to the family of Ruqayat Gawat for this tragic loss,” he added. May Allah pardon her transgressions! Gone is Ruqayat Gawat! Rukayat’s death was also verified by Jubril Gawat, a relative of the artist and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on New Media, in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday morning.
“We do indeed belong to Allah, and we shall return to Him.” Q 2 V 156,” the person tweeted. Sanwo-Olu’s assistant, Gboyega Akosile, sent his sympathies and quoted the same tweet, saying: “Ina lillahi waina ilaehi rajiun.”
Upon the passing of our cherished sister Rukayat, may the All-Powerful Allah, the giver and taker of life, comfort the family of my close brothers @Mr_JAGs @tfk_gawat. “May Aljannah firdaus serve as her enduring residence.
I pray that Allah gives you the strength to endure this irreversible loss. Later on today, her remains will be buried in accordance with Islamic customs and ceremonies.
