The Nigerian University of Technology and Management (NUTM) has achieved a significant milestone in higher education by securing approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to offer comprehensive degree programs in the Department of Computing. This pioneering institution, licensed by the Federal Government in May of this year, is dedicated to advancing education in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), as well as management and entrepreneurship.
With a mission to cultivate innovative leaders in technology and management, NUTM aims to make a meaningful impact not only in Africa but also on a global scale. The approval from NUC allows the university to launch full bachelor’s degree programs on a full-time basis, with the inaugural cohort scheduled to commence their studies in January 2024.
The initial offerings include degrees in computer science, cybersecurity, and information technology, reflecting the institution’s commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements. As part of the program, students will engage in a comprehensive curriculum, covering computing studies, entrepreneurship capstones, critical thinking, problem-solving, public speaking, and industry experience.
