Mrs Nkem Oni-Egboma has been named Chief Financial Officer of Emerging Markets Telecommunication Services (EMTS) Limited, which operates as 9mobile (CFO).
Oni-Egboma is a thoroughbred professional with extensive experience in the financial services industry, including expertise in business strategy, business development, international trade services, internal control and audit, treasury operations functions, and risk management.
The new CFO, who has a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Ahmadu Bello University and a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Lagos, has worked in the private sector for over 31 years. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Directors (IOD).
In a statement about the appointment, 9mobile CEO Juergen Peschel stated that the company is pleased with Oni-strategic Egboma’s choice. He said she had distinguished herself as a well-rounded professional in the financial services industry and would manage the company’s finances prudently.

Oni’s background
Oni Egboma’s recent position was managing director at Zenith Pensions Custodian Limited, where she led the company’s quantum expansion. She was the Allen Zone zonal head of Zenith Bank Plc before being appointed managing director of Zenith Pensions Custodian Limited. Her primary responsibility was to provide transformational leadership while also ensuring excellent and consistent growth in the balance sheet size of the branches under her supervision.
The new CFO has taken courses both in and out of Nigeria, including The Leadership Edge: Strategies for the New Leader (Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania), Making Corporate Boards More Effective (Harvard Business School), and Finance Programmes for Senior Executives (Harvard Business School) (Said Business School, Oxford University). She is forward-thinking, results-oriented, professional, and dedicated to excellence.
As 9mobile’s new chief financial officer, Oni-Egboma will be in charge of the prudent management of all of the company’s resources. She will also enforce all ethical, operational, and financial policies and regulations.
