The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) predicts cloudy and sunny weather across the country from Wednesday to Friday. NiMet’s weather forecast, announced on Tuesday in Abuja, projected partly overcast skies with sunlight intervals across Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara on Wednesday, with a probability of a few rainfall in southern Kaduna and southern Taraba.
“While leaving remaining parts of the region to be in sunny and hazy condition during the morning hours, a few thunderstorms are anticipated over parts of Kebbi, Sokoto and southern Kaduna in afternoon and evening.
“The northern central region is predicted to be cloudy in the morning. Thunderstorms are expected over sections of southern Plateau, Kogi, Abuja, Benue, and Kwara in the afternoon and evening.Inland and coastal cities in the South are predicted to see gloomy mornings.
In the afternoon and evening, thunderstorms are predicted over portions of Ondo, Osun, Owerri, Ikom, Enugu, Cross-River, Port Harcourt, and Lagos, the statement stated. NiMet reports that Thursday will provide bright and hazy weather to various areas of the region. The meteorological agency predicted a partly cloudy morning with intermittent sunny spells across Kebbi, Sokoto, Kaduna, Gombe, and Bauchi.
“We anticipate a partly cloudy atmosphere with intermittent sunshine later in the day, with the possibility of a few thunderstorms over parts of southern Taraba and southern Adamawa.”
Over the North Central region, more cloud cover is expected in the morning. There may be a few thunderstorms across sections of Kogi and Kwara in the afternoon and evening.
It stated, “The morning hours should be mostly cloudy over the inland and coastal cities with prospects of thunderstorms over parts of Cross River, Rivers, and Bayelsa.”
Better chances of thunderstorms and rain were anticipated by the agency for the afternoon and evening hours over the region. Throughout the forecast period on Friday, the agency anticipated cloudy skies with brief periods of sunshine throughout the northern region.
It also indicated that there would be a lot of cloud cover in the North Central area in the morning.”Thunderstorms are expected over Ado-Ekiti, Edo, Abakaliki, Enugu, Abakaliki, Anambra, Lagos, Calabar, Port-Harcourt, and Bayelsa during the afternoon and evening hours,” the statement stated. “A cloudy atmosphere is anticipated over the inland and coastal cities in the morning period.”

Later in the day, thunderstorms were predicted to pass over portions of the states of Taraba, Jigawa, Yobe, Borno, Adamawa Bauchi, Katsina, Kaduna, and Kebbi. “During the morning hours, thunderstorms are predicted over several central states, including the Plateau, Nasarawa, the Federal Capital Territory, Benue, and Niger states. There is a chance of thunderstorms later in the day over the Federal Capital Territory, Kogi, Niger, Plateau, Benue, and Nasarawa.
It stated, “Morning rains are expected in the southern cities, especially in parts of Imo, Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Edo, Cross River, Bayelsa, and Lagos states.”
In the afternoon and/or evening, the agency predicted thunderstorms along with rain over portions of the states of Ogun, Ondo, Edo, Delta, Imo, Ebonyi, Cross River, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, and Lagos.
NiMet reports that on Monday, early morning thunderstorms are predicted over portions of the states of Yobe, Borno, Adamawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Kano, Jigawa, Taraba, and Kaduna. While there is a chance of thunderstorms over portions of Taraba, Adamawa, Zamfara, Jigawa, Sokoto, Kebbi, Kano, Bauchi, and Kaduna states throughout the afternoon and evening hours.
portions of the Plateau, the Federal Capital Territory, and the states of Nasarawa are expected to see thunderstorms in the early morning, while portions of Plateau Niger, Nasarawa, and the Federal Capital Territory may get thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.
It stated, “Parts of Ekiti, Imo, and Cross Rivers states are expected to see morning rains, with prospects for rain in the afternoon and evening over parts of Abia, Imo, Ekiti, Akwa Ibom, Cross Rivers, and Rivers states.”
On Tuesday, NiMet predicted morning thunderstorms over portions of the states of Taraba, Adamawa, Katsina, Sokoto, Kebbi, Bauchi, and Kaduna. It states that later in the day, thunderstorms are expected throughout the majority of the northern region. “Thunderstorms are predicted over portions of the Feder in the morning.”
While thunderstorms are predicted for the entire region in the afternoon and evening, they are primarily expected across the Capital Territory, Benue, Nasarawa, Plateau, and Nevada states. Cloudy skies are expected over the southern area, with morning rains possible over portions of the states of Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River, and afternoon/evening rains anticipated over the entire region, according to the report.
