President Bola Tinubu declared in his January 1, 2025, New Year’s address that a National Values Charter would be introduced during the first quarter of 2025.
The objective of this effort is to enhance Nigerians’ sense of national identity and ethical values.
The President underlined that the Federal Executive Council has already adopted the Charter, which will encourage reciprocal pledges between the government and citizens, promoting collaboration and trust among Nigeria’s diverse populace.
He stated, “To achieve our national goals and objectives, we must become better citizens and uncompromising in our devotion and allegiance to Nigeria.”
The purpose of the Charter is to encourage unity and patriotism among Nigerians as part of a larger national orientation drive.
President Tinubu further emphasised his administration’s dedication to young inclusivity and investment in nation-building by announcing the start of a young Conference in the first quarter of 2025.
Information about choosing representatives for the conference is anticipated to be provided by the Ministry of Youth.
Additionally, the President called on state and local authorities to work with the federal government on new opportunities in tax reform, livestock, and agriculture to promote national development.
President Tinubu offered hope for the upcoming year in his address, recognising the difficulties of 2024 but reassuring the populace that their sacrifices will result in a better future for Nigeria.
