In Nigeria, Netflix has raised subscription costs once more, following a price increase in April 2024. All subscription packages are impacted by this new hike, which has a noticeable percentage increase overall.
Nigerians will now pay N7,000 per month for Netflix’s Premium Plan, a 40% increase from the previous fee of N5,000 per month, according to the most recent price update. The ordinary plan subscription went up from N4,000 to N5,500, a 37.5% increase. Nigerian users like this plan since it offers multi-screen viewing options and HD quality.
On the other hand, the lowest subscription plan, Mobile, has climbed by 83% from N1,200 to N2,200, while its Basic plan, which was N2,900, has increased by 21% to N3,500. With the implementation of the most recent price increase in April of this year, this marks the platform’s second price adjustment in three months in Nigeria.
Netflix stated at the time that the pricing change was a component of a larger plan to modify its subscription costs in different geographical areas. The company stated that the modifications were made in order to accelerate the growth of its revenue and earnings, continuing a trend of recurring price increases to support the expansion of its content offerings.
