Dr. Comfort Adokwe, a dedicated lecturer at Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK), found herself in a harrowing situation when she was forcibly taken from her residence in Keffi on a fateful Sunday night. However, there’s a glimmer of hope in this distressing tale as she was released on a subsequent Tuesday night. This turn of events came at a price, as an undisclosed family member disclosed that Dr. Adokwe regained her freedom only after a substantial ransom of N5 million was paid. Her ordeal was not over, though, as she still had to undergo a medical checkup to determine her health status, highlighting the physical and psychological toll of her abduction, lecturer.
In a disturbing parallel to this incident, the family of Prof. Isaac Ogara, also associated with NSUK, faced a similar nightmare when gunmen abducted his wife and daughter from their Lafia residence. Their release followed the payment of an undisclosed sum as ransom, underscoring the recurring issue of kidnapping incidents in the region, lecturer.
It’s particularly disconcerting that despite the presence of an anti-kidnapping law that mandates life imprisonment for those responsible for such heinous acts in the state, Keffi and Lafia communities continue to be plagued by these criminal activities. These nefarious individuals have managed to amass substantial fortunes by extorting victims and holding them hostage. Tragically, some victims have lost their lives, while others have been compelled to part with significant amounts of money to secure their release, lecturer.

They urge residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious individuals involved in these criminal activities, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in combating this pressing issue, lecturer.
