The newly elected Vice President of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Layo Okeowo, has disclosed that the new exco of the chamber will be focusing on incentive-based advocacy.

According to a statement, Okeowo made this known during the inauguration and investiture of the LCCI new executives in Lagos recently.

She said that it was time for attention to be shifted to ameliorating the pains and hardships of business owners and households in the country.

Okeowo, who is also the Managing Director of FAE Limited, explained that the new LCCI exco would tirelessly advocate for businesses as a leading member of the Organised Private Sector in Nigeria.

She noted that the chamber would do this by networking, collaborating and liaising with the Federal and State governments, including other relevant agencies of government to bring succour to businesses in the country.

The industrialist added that the Federal and State governments needed to do more to support businesses, especially the manufacturing sector and Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises with bailout funds and incentives that would enable them to overcome the current quagmires in the economy.

She said, “I am very excited to be the vice president of this great chamber- Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

“I am happy to be working with my president, Mr Gabriel Idahosa, a well-respected leader, and we are determined to improve the chamber in its advocacy policy and intervening positively in moving forward businesses and the Nigerian economy as a whole.”
