Jaiz Bank, Nigeria’s first non-interest bank, has been named the Most Promising Islamic Bank of 2024 at the prestigious Global Islamic Finance Awards (GIFA). The announcement was made during the Global Islamic Finance Summit (GIFS) and awards ceremony held in the Maldives.
The Chairman of GIFA, Professor Humayon Dar, praised Jaiz Bank for its outstanding growth potential, innovation, and financial performance. After evaluating several institutions within the same category, the GIFA Awards Committee selected Jaiz Bank for the top honour, recognizing its exceptional leadership in Islamic banking.
Jaiz Bank’s Managing Director/CEO, Dr. Haruna Musa, expressed gratitude on behalf of the bank’s board, management, and staff, emphasizing that the award is a significant milestone in the bank’s strategic vision to become a leading non-interest financial institution in Africa within the next five years. Dr. Musa also noted that Jaiz Bank had previously won GIFA’s Most Improved Islamic Bank Award in 2020 and 2021.
