The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria will consider the impact of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity on capital market operations at its 2024 Company Secretaries and Registrars’ Forum.
This was disclosed at a press briefing organised at the ICSAN National Secretariat in Lagos recently.
The ICSAN Company Secretaries and Registrars’ Forum serves as a platform to teach participants about contemporary practices and pertinent governance issues trending in the profession.
The 2024 forum, which will be held in April, has the theme ‘The Implications of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity for Capital Market Operations’.
Speaking with journalists, the President and Chairman of the Governing Council of ICSAN, Funmi Ekundayo, who was represented by the Chairman of the ICSAN Corporate Members Committee, Abiola Laseinde, said the organisation’s objective was to come up with a trending topic and provide guidance on the emerging issue.
She said, “Each year, our goal is to identify a current, popular issue, specifically a challenge, and explore ways we can provide support in overcoming it and progressing forward.
“The importance of selecting this year’s topic lies in addressing challenges related to utilising digital technology, such as utilising digital tools to transform our work processes and mindset to achieve favourable results.”
The PUNCH in January reported that the Registrar and Chief Executive of the Institute expressed a commitment to the continuous learning and professional development of its members.
