In a historic move, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde formally confirmed Prince Abimbola Owoade’s nomination as Oyo’s new Alaafin on Friday. The prestigious post represents the conclusion of Prince Owoade’s distinguished career, humanitarian efforts, and commitment to the preservation of Yoruba culture. Owoade is a renowned Nigerian-Canadian entrepreneur, philanthropist, and project management expert. Prince Owoade was born into the respected Owoade-Agunloye royal dynasty in Oyo town.
He is a descendent of Aremo Aderounmu Iyanda Owoade, Agure Compound, Oyo town, Oyo State, Nigeria. Prince Owoade has an exceptional educational background that demonstrates his academic excellence. He finished his secondary school at Baptist High School in Saki, Oyo State, in 1992.
He then pursued his technical ambition by getting a National Diploma and a Higher National Diploma in Mechanical technical from The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro and The Polytechnic, Ibadan, respectively.
Prince Owoade continued his study in the United Kingdom, gaining Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering degrees from the University of Sunderland and Northumbria University, respectively. In addition, he earned Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in 2015.
Throughout his career, Prince Owoade has displayed great leadership abilities, constancy, and loyalty. He has worked in a variety of roles, including Planning Engineer at Oil Reach Company in Glasgow, United Kingdom, and Project Coordinator at Manitoba Hydro in Canada.
