Elon Musk, the billionaire tech CEO who has become President Donald Trump’s government adviser, openly questioned a new artificial intelligence effort just hours after the president unveiled it.
Musk stated on Tuesday that the new AI program, known as Stargate, lacked the funds required to meet its objective of spending $500 billion in AI infrastructure in the United States over the next four years. “They don’t actually have the money,” Musk stated in response to the X announcement.
Given Musk’s prominence in the Trump world, his swift criticism was significant. Musk has been a loud supporter of the president, making his presence known throughout Trump’s inauguration.
The endeavour is a collaboration between SoftBank, Oracle, and OpenAI, an AI research startup co-founded by Musk prior to a falling out with Sam Altman.
