Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, has surpassed the $400 billion mark in net worth, now standing at about $447 billion.
This milestone was brought about by a recent insider sale of SpaceX shares, which increased his wealth by almost $50 billion, as well as a notable increase in the price of Tesla’s stock.
Musk’s wealth has grown by 77% since the November 5, 2024, U.S. presidential election, mostly as a result of a 70% increase in Tesla’s stock price.
Given the potential of its autonomous technology, Wedbush analysts estimate that by the end of 2025, Tesla’s market capitalisation might reach $2 trillion.
Significant contributions to Musk’s fortune also come from SpaceX, which is worth $136 billion, and his AI business, xAI, which is worth $25 billion.
Musk’s fortune is equal to that of John D. Rockefeller in 1937 due to his extraordinary wealth accumulation, which at the time represented a comparable percentage of the US gross domestic product.
