Following a 0.22 percent rise on Monday, September 26, the bulls returned to the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange.
Gains recorded by Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc contributed to the positive outcome.
CSCS Plc gained 37 Kobo to close at N12.90 per unit, up from N12.53 per unit the previous session, while Friesland gained 10 Kobo to close at N73.10 per share, up from N73.00 the previous session.
As a result, the NASD unlisted securities index (NSI) rose 1.56 points to 725.12 points from 723.56 points, while market capitalisation increased by N2.05 billion to N954.56 billion, up from N952.51 billion last Friday.
However, trading volume fell by 38.4% during the day, with a total of 37,205 shares exchanged hands, compared to 60,420 units transacted last Friday.
The trading value increased by 4,657.7 percent to N2.7 million at the close of business, compared to the previous day’s rate of N57,125.00.
The number of deals traded increased by 260 percent on the day, with 18 transactions completed compared to five the previous session.
AG Mortgage Plc remained the most traded stock by volume year-to-date, with 2.3 billion units valued at N1.2 billion. CSCS Plc stood in second place with 687.6 million units worth N14.3 billion, and Mixta Real Estate Plc occupied third place with 178.1 million units valued at N313.4 million.
Also, the most active stock by value on a year-to-date basis was CSCS Plc with 687.6 million units exchanged for N14.2 billion, VFD Group Plc was in second place with 27.7 million units valued at N7.4 billion as FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc was in third place with a turnover of 14.3 million units valued at N1.7 billion.
