According to the Presidential CNG Initiative, or PCNGI, compressed natural gas cylinders are safe for drivers and users to utilise when handled properly.
PCNGI sent its deepest condolences to the people hurt at the NIPCO CNG Station at Ikpoba Hill, Benin City, in a stasfwagbemi, a detailed analysis of the cylinder implicated in the event revealed that it had been weeksed for use with compressed natural gas.
He stated that PCNGI is working closely with the police, regulatory bodies, and NIPCO management to undertake a thorough investigation into the matter.
In order to “identify and address bad actors in the ecosystem to ensure that the safer, cheaper, cleaner, and more reliable fuel source remains risk-free for everyone,” PCNGI and our partners (SON, NMDPRA, NADDC, and FRSC) are working together to develop the Nigeria Gas Vehicle Monitoring System, which Oluwagbemi said is crucial in light of this incident.
“Use only accredited conversion centres to ensure their safety,” he advised the public.
