The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has announced the appointment of 16 new directors to oversee critical departments within the institution.
Their appointments, which span key regulatory, policy, and supervisory roles, officially took effect on March 3.
Among those appointed is Jide-Samuel Avbasowamen, who now serves as the Director of the Information Technology Department.
Others include Abdullahi Hamisu, Director of Banking Services; Ojumu Adenike, Director of Medical Services; and Makinde Olanrewaju, who now leads the Procurement and Support Services Department.
In the financial sector, Sike Ijeoma has been named Director of the Financial Policy and Regulation Department, while Isa-Olatinwo Aisha will head the Consumer Protection Department. Oboh Victor Ugbem has been appointed Director of Monetary Policy.
Additional appointments include Nakorji Musa as Director of Trade and Exchange, Yusuf Rakiya as Director of Payment System Supervision, and Vincent Modesola as head of Strategy Management and Innovation.
Farouk Muhammad now leads the Reserve Management Department, while Akinwunmi Olubukola Akinniyi takes charge of Banking Supervision.
Furthermore, Solaja Mohammed-Jamiu has been named Director of the Other Financial Institutions Supervision Department (OFISD), with Hassan Umar leading the Development and Finance Institutions Supervision Department.
Adedeji Adetona will oversee the Currency Operations and Branch Management Department, while Okpanachi Moses has been appointed Director of the Statistics Department.
These appointments mark a significant restructuring within the apex bank, aiming to strengthen its regulatory and operational framework.
