Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the leading sociocultural organization of the Igbo people, has warned Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, against rigging the results of the presidential and National Assembly elections on Saturday to favor a particular candidate against the will of the electorate.
However, Ohanaeze issued a warning, claiming that the manipulation of election results would only serve to spark anarchy because Nigerians would do anything to make sure that their votes were counted.

The Igbo apex body claimed that the reported irregularities across the nation, particularly in Lagos, Delta, five South-East states, Rivers, and a host of other states, amounted to a betrayal of Nigerians’ trust.
Professor Yakubu is reminded that Nigerians entered this election based on his guarantees that the INEC’s deployment of BVAS was the ideal countermeasure to electoral malpractices in Nigeria, Ohanaeze had added.
Therefore, allowing what is happening in Nigeria to continue would be very unfortunate. Millions of Nigerians will undoubtedly revolt against this betrayal of trust.
Ohanaeze thanked the good people of Nigeria for their bravery, perseverance, and ultimate discharge of their civic duties by exercising their right to vote for a better Nigeria at the Presidential and National Assembly elections on Saturday.

The Labour Party’s Peter Obi and Datti Ahmed received a resounding majority of the vote nationwide, and Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide Secretary General Ambassador Okey Emuchay, MFR, is extremely pleased with the outcome of the election.
According to the results that have been so far made public, Nigerians have fully expressed their joy at making a quantum leap from the suffocating ocean of darkness and desire a motivating gravy train of light and prosperity.
Regrettably, some dark forces are determined to use INEC to undermine Nigerians’ political will. For illustration
“Peter Obi has asserted time and time again that the Almighty God is only using him as a vessel to save and extricate Nigeria from its present predicament. In other words, you own the victory, and everyone must fight to keep it.
In conclusion, by respecting the will of the people, we implore President Muhammadu Buhari and the international community to persuade Mahmood Yakubu not to assist the growing Frankenstein monster that devours its creator first. Nigerians are now speaking.
