The Internet Society has opened applications for its 2025 Peering Fellowship, a six-month program aimed at empowering Internet infrastructure professionals with advanced technical skills and global networking opportunities. Applications are open until May 2, 2025.
Program Overview
The fellowship will support 15 selected professionals from Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Asia-Pacific. It is designed to equip participants with the tools to address interconnection and peering challenges, promoting more affordable and resilient Internet access in their regions.
Key Components
- Virtual Learning: Engage in online sessions and collaborative forums.
- In-Person Events: Attend major industry events such as AfPIF, LACNOG, and Peering Asia.
- Technical and Advocacy Training: Gain expertise in routing, IXPs, and Internet policy.
- Industry Engagement: Forge connections within the global Internet community.

Local Impact Projects: Implement initiatives supporting peering and interconnection advancements in your region.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should:
- Reside in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, or Asia-Pacific.
- Have at least three years of experience in Internet infrastructure.
- Possess a basic understanding of Internet operations and practical networking experience.
- Be proficient in English.
- Have reliable access to broadband Internet and relevant devices.
- Be available to commit approximately four hours per week over six months.
