The Building Resilience Against Climate and Environmental Shocks (BRACE) Program is now accepting applications for its Cohort 3, Batch 1, targeting agripreneurs across Africa.
This intensive capacity development initiative aims to equip agricultural SMEs with the knowledge and tools to understand and mitigate the impacts of climate change on their businesses.
The program emphasizes the adoption of climate-smart practices and explores opportunities in climate financing.
Program Highlights:
- Eligibility Criteria:
- Ages 18 to 40
- Registered and operational agribusiness
- Citizenship of an African country
- Role as an owner, representative, or decision-maker in sectors such as crop production or animal production, including roles like producer, processor, marketer, or aggregator.
- Benefits:
- Deployment of a diagnostic tool to assess participants’ awareness of climate change impacts on their agribusinesses.
- Hands-on practical assignments leading to the ‘greening’ of participants’ agribusinesses, enhancing their positioning for climate financing opportunities.
- A self-paced six-week online learning program featuring a relevant and practical climate curriculum
- Engagement in peer-to-peer learning, networking, experience sharing, group discussions, assignments, and co-creation of solutions.
- Access to industry experts, trainers, and fellow agripreneurs through live interactive and mentoring sessions.
- Provision of information, resources, and tools to support investments and decisions leading to sustainable climate solutions.
- Opportunity to join the African Food Changemakers (AFC) hub community for additional resources, data, funding support, and market linkages to enhance business visibility, profitability, growth, and success.
The program is offered free of charge and is available in both English and French.
