The sudden demise of Dr. Herbert Onyewumbu Wigwe, CFR, until Friday, February 9, 2024, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings Plc, along with his dear wife, Chizoba Doreen, his son, Chizi, and a former Group Chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group, Abimbola Ogunbanjo, in a helicopter crash in the United States of America, threw Nigerians, nay Africa and the world, into deep shock and mourning! Besides the manner of their departure into existence beyond the realms of time, all them were young, and in the case of Chizi, so young!Â
The sorrow and tears felt within and outside Nigeria, and the tributes that have poured on the memories of the departed rose like a mountain! And, that foggy mountain stares down on people, reminding us that at the end of our earthly existence, we’ll only be remembered by what we did on earth.Â
For Herbert Wigwe, in particular, various things he’s been remembered for go well beyond his ‘natural habitats’ of the banking industry and Isiopko, Rivers State, Nigeria!Â
To cement his remembrance for years to come, Accomplish Magazine has published a “Tribute Edition in Honour of Herbert Wigwe”, putting together several important information about a man who left behind exclamations of “Wow!” in everything he ever did!Â
Going beyond mourning, the edition offers Dr. Ken Egbas on its CEO Interview section. His story of going from street hawker to birthing the limit-breaking SERAS Awards will inspire many.Â
Accomplish Magazine joins the international community to celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD), aligning with a call for more empowerment and political relevance for women.Â
The edition also unveils “Diaspora African” with Prof. Wale Sulaiman, an award winning neuro-surgeon who’s philanthropy and advocacy for accessible and affordable health care solutions in sub-Saharan Africa save many lives.Â
Still on philanthropy, Accomplish Magazine celebrates Davido’s mouth-watering give-aways and suggests how he and others like him can employ strategic philanthropy for greater good.Â
“Tough Times Never Lag in Nigeria” written by Dave Thomas-Baro’s is a must-read!Â
