Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, has won Ikeja LGA in Lagos state.

Ikeja is the local government area of Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress’s standard bearer (APC).

On Sunday, Olusegun Agbaje, the INEC resident electoral commissioner, announced the results at the state collation center.

Obi received 30,004 votes in the LGA, Tinubu received 21,276 votes, and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) received 2,280 votes.

The LGA is divided into ten wards, with 322,600 registered voters and 57,530 voting rights.

According to the INEC REC, the total number of valid votes was 55,062, while the number of rejected votes was 2,468.

There was no cancellation of votes in the LGA.

Tinubu, on the other hand, has won elections in seven other LGAs in the state, including Agege, Epe, Badagry, Lagos Mainland, Ikorodu, Ibeju-Lekki, and Lagos Island.

Lagos state is regarded as the APC presidential candidate’s major stronghold, having served as governor from 1999 to 2007.
