Akin Osuntokun, the director-general of the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential campaign council, lost his local government on Saturday.
In Ekiti West, the All Progressive Congress, which is now in power, easily won the presidential election.
Bola Tinubu of the APC defeated Peter Obi of the LP, who finished in third place.
The APC won each of the LG’s 11 wards, according to results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Local Government Collation Officer.
There were 14,516 votes cast for the party, 391 for the Labour Party, LP, 4,318 for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and 10 for the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP.
With its administrative center at Aramoko, the Ekiti West Local Government Area also includes Erinijiyan, Okemesi, Isokowa, Egede, Orokuta, Osemo, and Kajola.
