According to UNICEF data, Nigeria has the highest burden of mal-nutrition children in the world, which is why the organization focuses on women and children. It was seen that the foundation was established not only to support IDP camps but also to provide financial assistance to women for them to support their families and start businesses, Entrepreneurng report.

To remove the sufferings of internally challenged people in the world, most especially women. Dr. Yemi Adegboye Foundation has provided money and relief items to women who have relocated to Abuja following their displacement by urgency.

It was seen that over 150 women in the IDP Camp in Karu, an Abuja suburb, were given relief materials such as rice, beans, and noodles, among other things, to improve their nutrition.

The Founder of the Foundation, Dr. Yemi Adegboye, stated at an event where the materials were shared that the goal and aim were to reach out to women, children, the less fortunate, and disabled people from IDP camps who needed to be properly cared for.

The foundation plans to take the empowerment program to other parts of the country as said by one anonymous woman who was interviewed. Aside from feeding women in IDP camps, others have been given funds to start their businesses.

“When we first started, we gave some women money through bank transfers to help them start businesses and support their families.”

According to findings, the IDP camp women were fed quarterly. As a result, we intend to scale up every month and also to employ permanent employees as well. This is why we are appealing to international organizations and governments to collaborate with us to make the foundation a success.

Conclusion

Nevertheless, the empowerment program will be carried out because it is in line with Nigeria’s implementation of the global agenda of sustainable development goal 2, which included the removal of hunger ( i.e operation feed the nation) by 2030.
