Mr. Adesegun Adekunle has been chosen by the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) to lead its secretariat as its new executive secretary.
Adekunle, a fellow of NCS, succeeds Mr. Iyiola Ayoola, the previous Executive Secretary.
Adekunle is a computer scientist with more than 20 years of experience in the field, with expertise in both technical and managerial roles. He also holds certifications in both technical and managerial development.
As Executive Secretary, Adekunle is in charge of managing the day-to-day operations of NCS’s strategy implementation and program management. He collaborates closely with the National Executive Council, the President, and the staff to ensure that NCS’s goals are consistently met.
Adekunle was appointed following a meticulous process of choosing the best applicant for the job, according to Professor Adesina Sodiya, President of NCS, who also welcomed Adekunle to his new position.
He asserts that the Executive Secretary’s duties include providing the organization with numerous administrative supports, particularly by ensuring that professionals have access to all the resources they require from the secretariat.
Before being chosen to serve as the Executive Secretary of NCS, Adekunle worked as a big data analyst at TC Resources Technology in the UK. He has worked at the TC Resources Center as a project manager, scrum master, and machine learning capability.
He was a member of Team WAZOBIA B, which completed the project on CO2 emissions in Nigeria’s Southwest states and provided projections for the states’ futures if the current trend continues.
Before becoming the Head of IT Operations at Victsoft Technical Services in Lagos, he also served as the Head of the Cloud Applications Support Team at Choice Clouds Synergy Ltd.
He also held the position of Systems Manager, a senior management position, for several years at Nigeria Distilleries Ltd. (The Foremost Distillers) in Sango Ota, Ogun State, where he received several awards, including the Chairman Division, the Best Senior Staff Award, and the Long Service Staff Award.
Adekunle graduated from the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta with a master’s degree in information and communication technology. He is an expert in project management, machine learning, server administration, big data analytics, agile scrum master, SQL, and business analysis.
He holds a Big Data Analytics Certification from the National Mathematical Center in Abuja, Nigeria. He is also Axelos Global Best Practice ITIL certified (EXIN).
He is a Fellow of the Nigeria Computer Society (FNCS) and a member of the Nigerian Council for Computer Professional Registration (CPN). He belongs to both Information Technology Systems Professional and Security Professional (ITSSP).
