Silas Adekunle is a Nigerian inventor and technology entrepreneur known for creating the world’s first intelligent gaming robot.

Silas Adekunle’s Career

Adekunle is a co-founder and the former CEO of Reach Robotics, a creator of augmented reality gaming and STEM education robots. MekaMon, a four-legged robot with lifelike movement, was created by the firm.

The platform uses robotics and augmented reality to bring video game characters to life. Additionally, Reach Robotics created an app that manages the MekaMon and serves as a gateway to online media. Adekunle was able to hire 65+ full-time workers at its peak thanks to $12 million in funding from investors, including London Venture Partners.

In order to market his product in both the United States and the United Kingdom, Adekunle teamed up with Apple in 2018 and signed an exclusive distribution agreement. On September 2, 2019, Reach Robotics announced its closure due to “inherent challenges in the consumer robotics sector.”

Adekunle is currently concentrating on leveraging MekaMon to build the cloud infrastructure for industrial automation in the UK and the ecosystem for robotics education across Africa. He established the company Awarri with the goal of fostering the growth and use of cutting-edge AI and robotics technology in Africa.

Adekunle is the co-founder and CEO of (R.I) as of January 2020.  The company wants to assist developers in implementing the cloud infrastructure swiftly and securely so that they can monitor, manage, and operate their robots, industrial automation, and IOT devices from a distance.

Silas Adekunle’s Education

Born in Nigeria, Adekunle migrated to the UK when he was 12 years old. He graduated with honors with a first-class robotics degree and a doctorate in technology from the University of the West of England in Bristol.

Silas Adekunle’s Honours

Adekunle was chosen for the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe 2018: Technology list the same year he was named to the Financial Times list of the “Top 100 minority ethnic leaders in technology” in November of that year.
