Responding to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) announcement that new naira notes will be designed and issued beginning December 15, 2022, Nigeria’s leading financial institution, Access Bank, has urged its customers to use its alternative channels to deposit their existing naira notes to beat the rush before the new ones are issued on December 15, 2022.

Access Bank stated in a recent message sent to customers over the weekend via multiple channels that “there is no need to panic as we are closer to you than you think.” With over 600 branches, more than 150,000 Access Bank CLOSA agents and deposit ATMs across our branches, and over 500 BETA agents present in over 180 major markets in Nigeria to receive cash from customers, we are just a phone call away.
Our customers can easily deposit their existing Naira notes through any of these channels that are convenient for them.

For your convenience, our branches will be open later during the week and on Saturdays, beginning at 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., to accept cash deposits

With over 160,000 Access Closa Agents currently spread across the country’s 774 Local Government Areas, you can easily deposit your existing naira notes through an agent near you in your location to avoid the risk of transporting cash to a far distance to locate a branch. Please click HERE to locate an Access Bank CLOSA agent in your area.

Whether you deposit your existing Naira notes at a branch, an ATM, or a POS, you can be confident that your money is safe with us and that you can always rely on our speed, service, and security.

All cash deposit transactions will be free during this period of receiving your existing Naira notes. Cash deposits will not be charged. You can also pick up your debit cards for use at POS terminals and ATM withdrawals in case of an emergency.

We urge all of our valued customers to deposit their naira notes before the deadline of January 31, 2023, when the current naira notes will cease to be legal tender.
