Iyinoluwa Samuel Aboyeji is a Nigerian entrepreneur born on March 28, 1991. He was the former managing director of Flutterwave and a co-founder of Andela.  In 2019, New African magazine listed Aboyeji as one of the Top 100 most influential Africans.

Iyinoluwa Aboyeji’s Career

Iyinoluwa Aboyeji is a entrepreneur who works for the common good. He is passionate about collaborating with missionary talent and resources to create a better future for Africa. He spent the most recent few years as the CEO of Flutterwave, a company developing payments infrastructure and technology to link Africa to the global economy. During those years, under his leadership, the business processed over $2 billion across over 50 million transactions, ranking among the fastest-growing payments technology businesses of all time. It also generated annual revenues in the millions of dollars.

It also attracted significant investment from experienced players in the global payments arena such as Y Combinator (investors in Stripe), Greycroft (investors in Braintree), Greenvisor Capital (Led by the Former CEO of Visa), Mastercard amongst others.

Additionally, it received sizeable investments from seasoned leaders in the international payments industry, including Mastercard, Y Combinator, Greycroft, and the former CEO of Visa. These investors include Stripe, Braintree, and Y Combinator. Prior to co-founding and leading Flutterwave, Iyinoluwa co-founded Andela, Africa’s largest technical organization with over 1000 software engineers, which has attracted funding from Mark Zuckerberg and Google Ventures, among other sources.

The payments startup has processed $1.2 billion in transactions so far, enabling Pan-African merchants to operate on a worldwide scale with the help of $15.7 million in funding. When Aboyeji’s previous business, Andela, obtained $24 million in backing from Mark Zuckerberg, the project attracted notice.

Iyin is now the director of Fund for Africa’s Future, where he spends time educating entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and investors about how to create rapidly expanding, significant digital companies in Africa. In addition to building a data-backed and informed point of view on how to turn Africa’s biggest difficulties into fantastic business possibilities, he is working to locate enthusiastic and experienced missionary entrepreneurs with the integrity and bravery to perfectly execute in Africa.

While empowering them to assist the following generation of missionary entrepreneurs, Fund for Africa’s Future honors missionary entrepreneurs. Iyinoluwa received a bachelor’s degree in legal studies from the University of Waterloo. She also serves on the boards of Filmo Realty, Rainbow Educational Services Limited, and Paris’ Share Africa Project.
