The Nigerian stock market recovered from its previous session’s loss on Friday, with the All Share Index rising by 0.37% to close at 44,788.14 points, up from 44,625.18 points.
The market capitalisation increased by 0.37% to N24.395 trillion from N24.306 trillion at the previous close, gaining N89 billion.
A total of 122.8 million shares were traded in 3,402 transactions totalling N4.4 billion.
The Market Breadth closed negative as 18 equities saw their share prices rise while 16 equities saw their share prices fall.
Percentage Gainers
WAPIC led other gainers with 9.09% growth to close at N0.36 from the previous close of N0.36.
NEIMETH, ABC Transport and Fidelity Bank, among other gainers, also grew their share prices by 8.70%, 8.00% and 7.89%, respectively.
Percentage Losers
Dangote Cement led the price decliners’ table as it shed 10.00% of its share price to close at N220.50 from the previous close of N245.00.
LEARNAFRICA and Honeywell Flour, among other price decliners, also shed their share prices by 9.68% and 9.36%, respectively.
Volume Drivers
Fidelity Bank traded 14.95 million shares in 175 transactions totaling N60 million.
Ecobank traded approximately 10 million shares in 15 transactions totaling N114.7 million.
MTN Nigeria traded approximately 9 million units of its shares in 198 transactions totaling approximately N1.776 billion.
