Buhari recognizes SecureID CEO for contributions to the manufacturing and fintech industries

Mrs Kofo Akinkugbe, the founder and CEO of SecureID Group, has been recognized by President Muhammadu Buhari for her contributions to the manufacturing and financial technology (fintech) sectors.

She was among those honoured with national honours last week in Abuja. She was appointed Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) at Nigeria’s National Honours Awards Investiture in 2022.

Mrs. Akinkugbe, a dynamic business administrator, innovative director, and technocrat, is a passionate and audacious pioneer who has changed the narrative in Africa about manufacturing and gender perspectives.

She is a member of the Nigerian Industrial Policy and Competitiveness Advisory Council and the Regulators’ Forum (a part of the Fintech Association of Nigeria). She is also an Exco Member of the Nigerian Manufacturing Association (MAN).

It will be remembered that SecureID Limited, led by Mrs. Akinkugbe, won the prestigious Global System of Mobile Applications (GSMA), earning praise from several prominent figures, including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

Mrs. Akinkugbe was also presented with the National Productivity Order of Merit (NPOM) for 2022 during the 19th National Production Day (NPD) celebration on May 12, 2022, at the Banquet Hall, State House, Asokoro, Abuja.

SecureID Limited is a smartcard manufacturing and personalization company certified by Visa International, MasterCard Incorporated, Verve, GSMA, GH-LINK, GIMAC, Card Quality Management (CQM), and ISO 9001/2015 to manufacture and personalize credit and debit cards for all Nigerian banks as well as clients in 21 African countries.

In addition, the company produces SIM cards for telecommunications companies, loyalty cards for retail, and high-security documents for the government, such as driver’s licenses, national identity cards, international passports, and more.

SecureID provides secure, innovative end-to-end digital payments, mobile NFC/tokenization, loyalty, digital identity, and Automated Fare Collection for the railway, road, and water transportation systems through its divisions, SID Digital and Transport Payment Solutions (TPS).
