Linda Yaccarino, the Chief Executive Officer of X (formerly Twitter), has officially resigned from her role after nearly two years at the company. The announcement came as a surprise and marks another leadership change at the Elon Musk-owned social media platform.
Yaccarino, who joined X in June 2023 after serving as head of advertising at NBCUniversal, was hired to stabilise the platform and rebuild relationships with advertisers following Musk’s acquisition and rebranding of the platform. During her tenure, she oversaw major operational changes and attempted to shift X into an “everything app,” integrating payments, video, and AI services.

Her resignation was confirmed in a post on the platform, where she thanked the X team and stated she was “grateful for the opportunity to help lead in such transformative times.” Elon Musk acknowledged her departure in a brief response: “Thank you for your contributions.”
No successor has been named at the time of reporting. The leadership change comes as X continues to face challenges, including a decline in ad revenue, increased competition from other platforms, and ongoing legal battles.
Yaccarino’s exit adds to the uncertainty surrounding X’s future direction, particularly as Musk focuses on integrating the platform more closely with his artificial intelligence company, xAI.
