MultiChoice Nigeria has officially slashed its DStv decoder price by 50%, reducing the cost from ₦20,000 to ₦10,000.
This move is part of the company’s new “We Got You” campaign, aimed at drawing back disrupted subscribers and easing the pressure on households facing economic challenges.
The initiative includes a limited-time promotion running from June 16 to July 31, 2025: subscribers who pay in full for their current package will receive a free upgrade to the next package tier.

This decision follows a significant drop in subscribers—1.4 million between March 2023 and March 2025—attributed largely to rising inflation and repeated price hikes earlier in 2023 and 2024.
According to MultiChoice Nigeria’s CEO, John Ugbe, the strategy is about making premium entertainment more accessible to everyone—not just sports fans—by offering value across drama, kids programming, news, and more.
