The British High Commission (BHC) is inviting applications for its 2025 Internship Program in Nigeria. This program offers a monthly stipend of ₦830,000 (approximately $536.45) and provides an opportunity for individuals to gain international experience and develop skills in priority sectors.
Position: Intern – Department for International Trade
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Duration: 12 months

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct data research and analyze topical issues across identified sectors.
- Build a strong pipeline of potential stakeholders for Department for Business and Trade (DBT) Nigeria events.
- Support the DBT Africa events team in delivering high-value campaigns to assist UK companies in securing substantial commercial deals.
- Identify and deliver a pipeline of commercial opportunities in Nigeria for UK companies, in consultation with relevant teams and specialists.
- Contribute to the corporate objectives of the Deputy High Commission.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Proactive team player with strong interpersonal communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong desire to learn.
- Ability to work effectively, independently, and deliver results.
- Interest in creating and nurturing interpersonal relationships with stakeholders and team members.
- High level of competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program or recently graduated (e.g., International Relations, Economics, Administration, International Business, Engineering, or a relevant field).
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in an administrative, business, or support role.
Language Requirements:
- Proficiency in English.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Business/Sales experience.
- Experience or knowledge of database management and market research.
- Experience or knowledge in customer service.
- Innovative, curious mindset keen to take on new challenges.
