Dangote Petroleum Refinery has declared that, as of December 19, 2024, the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also referred to as petrol, will be lowered to ₦899.50 per litre.
Key Details:
- Prior Price Cut: The refinery cut the price to ₦970 per litre on November 24, 2024.
- Holiday Discount: The most recent price reduction attempts to lower Nigerians’ transport expenses over the holiday season.
- Special Purchase Offer: Customers who obtain a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank are eligible to buy an extra litre of petrol on credit for each litre they buy with cash.
- Refinery Capacity: Nigeria’s refined petroleum product demands may be fully met by the Dangote Refinery, which is the largest single-train refinery in the world with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day. It also has the capacity to export more.
The Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, Anthony Chiejina, said, “To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS. From today, our petrol will be available at N899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or SPM.
“Furthermore, for every litre purchased on a cash basis, consumers will have the opportunity to buy another litre on credit, backed by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank.”
This initiative, according to Chiejina, demonstrates Dangote Refinery’s dedication to offering premium petroleum products at affordable prices over substandard imported petroleum products, which are harmful to human health, machinery and the environment at large.
